Share-A-Chef Wednesday

Hi Everyone! Happy Hump Day! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and is ready for the long Holiday Weekend. I am super excited about the 4th of July, the hubby has to work so we are celebrating on the 3rd of July with family and friends. So for today's chef I wanted to share Geoffrey Zakarian, he is one of the fabulous chefs on the Food Network's "The Kitchen". Geoffrey is a chef/partner at the Lambs Club and The National in New York City. He also has a cookbook entitled "Town/Country 150 Recipes for Life Around the Table and he is a regular judge on the show "Chopped". I discovered him on the "Food Network" and he has the best recipes and today I wanted to share a special treat with you that you can whip up at your summer BBQs, starting with the 4th of July.. Watermelon Cosmo Punch

Yield:8 to 10 servings
Next Recipe
3 cups vodka
3 cups watermelon puree
1 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 cup Simple Syrup, recipe follows
Hollowed-out watermelon, for serving, optional
Fresh mint, for garnish
Simple Syrup:
1 cup sugar
Pour the vodka, watermelon puree, lime juice and Simple Syrup into a pitcher. Add to a punch bowl or a hollowed-out watermelon. Serve in punch glasses over ice and garnished with mint.

Simple Syrup:
Combine the sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Keep covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Yield: 1 1/2 cups
